Frankfurt am Main
Frankfurt am Main is Germany's financial capital, set in the western part of the country on the River Main. It has around 750 thousand inhabitants. It is known for its impressive high-rises, such as the Main Tower, and for the historic Römer, the heart of the old town. The Städel Art Museum and the Palmengarten botanical garden are well worth a visit. Frankfurt has a temperate climate, with cool winters (around 0-5 °C) and warm summers (20-25 °C). The best time to visit is spring and autumn.
