Mostar
Mostar, a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, lies on the Neretva in the south-western part of the country. It is the capital of the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton and one of the largest urban centres, with a population of around 60 thousand. Its most important landmark is the 16th-century Old Bridge, inscribed on the UNESCO list. The climate combines temperate and Mediterranean features, with hot summers (26°C on average) and mild winters. Mostar is best visited in spring or autumn, when temperatures are more pleasant.
